July Ipsy Glam Bag!

Here are the contents of my Ipsy Glam Bag for July 2013! I have to say, I really like the bag this month. It's a fun fluorescent pink bag in a different shape than we normally get. I think it's nice to switch it up a little. This bag also seems quite sturdy which is good.

Inside my bag, I received the following:

  • Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray, 1.7oz travel size
  • POP Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Rose Romance, full size
  • Coola SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen/Tinted Moisturizer in Rose Radiance, 0.23oz sample
  • bh cosmetics California Collection mini palette with 3 shadows
  • Nailtini nail laquer in Mai Tai, full size!
I am glad they packaged the  Healthy Sexy Hair beach spray in a separate bag because mine definitely leaked in shipping. I cleaned it up though and have already tried it once. I believe it did what it claims to, gives hair a beachy texture. I'm just not sure I like that texture in my hair. I will try it a few more times though, I like other products by this brand and want to give this one a fair chance. If I do end up not liking it, it's not the brand, it's just that I don't really like my hair to be anything other than silky and soft.

The POP Beauty lip crayon in Rose Romance is sort of a neutral light pinky nude. Definitely a color I like to wear on my lips, though I haven't tried out this product yet. I am excited to though.

When I was taking photos of a few things including this bag, I posted a picture of the Coola SPF 30 tinted moisturizer on Instagram with a note about how I wasn't sure I'd like it because of the rose scent. I am not usually a big fan of rose scent in anything. Except actual roses maybe. I didn't realize until a few minutes ago when I began writing this post that this was a tinted moisturizer. I first thought it was just a sunscreen, which was less exciting to me. Now that I know it is a tinted moisturizer I'm more excited to try it out. I just opened it and put a little on the back of my hand, and my first impression is that it seems sheer and I can smell the rose scent in it, but it's still worth a try.

The mini palette from bh cosmetics is cute. I love the three colors in it and am excited to play with it. I haven't even swatched it yet, but I'm sure I'll at least post a photo on Instagram when I do. I wish more companies would make mini palettes like this for us to try out in sample subscriptions!

Mai Tai is a bright coral shade of nail polish from Nailtini. Right off the bat, it's not my favorite shade but that is only from looking at it in the bottle. It wouldn't be abnormal for it to look completely different once applied to nails. (I have lots of polishes that have surprised me with how different they look between the bottle and the nail swatch!)

Now, I posted what I thought was a sneak peek of my bag in the form of a screen shot from my Glam Room earlier this month. In my Glam Room at the time, I was getting the Benefit Benetint rather than the Nailtini polish in Mai Tai. Here is the screen shot from when I had tried to sneak a peek at my July bag.
(screen shot from Ipsy website.)
Between the two, I'm actually happier with the Nailtini because I am far more likely to use a nail polish than the Benetint. I haven't cared for other 'stain' type products like Benetint in the past when I have tried them, so Nailtini is a much safer bet for me. I don't know if my Glam Room was originally incorrect, or if the bag I was shipped was incorrect but either way? It doesn't really matter to me. And I am sure I will try to sneak a peek at my August bag as soon as the August Glam Room goes live on the Ipsy website! Why? Because I just can't help myself. :)

Are you an Ipsy subscriber? What did you get in your glam bag this month and what did you think?

  1. I thought this month's Ipsy bag was great! I got similar products, but not exactly the same. I got a different hair product (an anti-humidity hairspray), and a mineral sunscreen from Coola instead of the tinted moisturizer. I also got the POP Beauty lip crayon, but in a different shade (Coral Crush). And instead of the nail polish, I got a scrub from Derma-e! I did get the same eyeshadow palette, though. :)

    1. Glad you like your bag this month! Have fun playing with all your samples! :)
