(Cue big echo-y voice:) It's time for another edition of Throwback Thursday!
Today I'm taking a look at a few past favorites from Revlon. I have a ColorStay 12 Hour Eyeshadow quad in Sandstorm, a Super Lustrous Lipstick in Softsilver Rose and an Illuminence Cream Shadow quad in PrisMagics. All of these were purchased and used by me in the late 90's to early/mid 2000's. (I just did the math in my head... holy crap. The 90's keep getting farther away... haha!)
Wow! Check out that old school packaging there. Now, I don't remember exactly when I got this lipstick, but I'm pretty sure this was a high school purchase for me. I remember picking it out because I saw a Revlon ad in a magazine where the model was wearing this lipstick. This actually wasn't a super favorite of mine, I used it sometimes but I used an old Cover Girl lipstick a lot more often. (Read about that lipstick in my Cover Girl edition of Throwback Thursday!)
Super Lustrous Lipstick in Softsilver Rose is still available today. I found it at Drugstore.com and at Target through a quick Google search, but I'm willing to bet that it can be found at most drugstores that carry Revlon.
This Illuminence Cream Shadow Quad was definitely a favorite of mine in high school. As you can tell, I loved that darker purple and iridescent white! (The blue not so much.) I used this all the time. I don't recall the staying power to be very good, in fact I carried this around in my purse or backpack so I could reapply it because it creased quite a bit. But one nice thing about cream shadows is that even when they crease, you can kinda fix them by smearing it back into place, right? (Lovely... lol!)
The packaging has changed since then. I have only ever owned this one, so I would hope that the formula has been improved as well but I don't know for sure. (Have you tried these more recently than the early 2000's? If so, how is the formula now? I'd love to know!) Again, these can likely be found at any drugstore that carries Revlon and you can purchase them online at Drugstore.com.
These quads have been discontinued fairly recently actually. Its only been in the last year or two that the new versions of the Revlon Color Stay have replaced these. (I have two new ones and haven't really tried either! Shame on me...) If you were to happen to want this specific quad, I would suggest checking a Dollar Tree or maybe a Big Lots near you. I haven't been to either store recently but I have seen discontinued drugstore makeup at both, including Revlon.
Are any of these past favorites for you? What are some of your old favorites from Revlon?
