My Makeup Organization... (I heart Target.)

As someone with a limited amount of space for their makeup, I hope to be able to give you some good tips on makeup organization and maximizing your storage. I don't have an official vanity because I just don't have room anywhere in my house for one. (Well, maybe I could fit one in my kitchen, but that would be strange!) Instead I use the top of my nightstand and the top drawer of it as a makeshift vanity. I have a couple of those plastic 3-drawer organizers on a little shelf off to the side. At this point I am pretty happy with how I have everything set up in my little makeup area. I have definitely spent my fair share of time searching for great organizers and love the ones I have found. I will list links to comparable organizers you can find online as I go. I really feel like I have done the best I can with the space I have, for now at least. This seems to always be evolving.

The tabletop:
My lighted mirror was purchased at Ulta when I had a 20% off coupon. I love it because it has an outlet on the back so I can plug in my curling iron or anything else like that I need while getting ready. I use that faux leather tray to keep everything corralled on the top of the table. I know it looks a little cluttered with all those perfume bottles and everything, but like I said, I just don't have anywhere else to put some of this stuff. The tray is from Target years ago so unfortunately I don't remember how much it cost. However, I am sure they have something similar. The ivory colored 3 compartment organizer I have my brushes in was purchased at TJ Maxx. I have eye brushes in the left compartment, face brushes in the middle and eyeliners and other pencils on the right. I believe I paid about $8 for it. TJ Maxx ususally has some cute storage and organization options. (Just take a look at the shelf I got for my nail polish!) The little blue plaid tin holds all my lip balms and was from one of the MAC Tartan Tales holiday giftsets from last year. I got mine over the summer at the CCO. My Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette stays out, because it is so pretty. Here is a better look at the contents in the tray.

Here are some organization options I found online that are comparable to the ones I used above. It is good to think out of the box, try office organization or kitchen storage products.
On to my drawer...
So as you can see, it is a good sized drawer and I can fit a lot in there. It is nice and deep which allows me to stack the plastic organizer tray you see on top of the other 2 below it. All those organizers fit nicely to the right side while leaving me space on the left for my palettes and a few other odds and ends. The box in the back left of the drawer with some bottles in it is a thin plastic gift container from christmas several years back. (Thus the blue snowflakes.) It looked like a takeout box but I cut the flaps off of it to use it for storage. It holds mini makeup remover bottles and makeup setting sprays. To the right of it are two Too Faced bronzer palettes. The shiny black zipped case is what my Buxom Stay There Eyeshadows came in. I don't keep those eyeshadows in it and haven't found another use for it yet so for now it sits in the drawer.  In the front left are palettes, all different brands. (I better not buy too many more, because I am running out of room! lol) Here is a close up of the top tray on the right side.

I love this tray. Actually I love all the plastic organizers like this that I got. They are from Target, in the bathroom organization aisle. I believe it was $12 for this one, you can find one in store near you here. As you can see it fits a lot of things! The different compartment sizes are really useful for organizing. I have eyeshadow bases in the top left, cream eyeshadows in the middle left and eyebrow powders/ pencil sharpeners in the bottom left. The middle compartment holds blemish treatments, concealers, face powders, eyelash curlers and tweezers. The top right is all my primers and the bottom right is gel eyeliners and the powders I often use to go over them. Underneath this tray sits two three compartment organizers.

These two three compartment organizers are also from Target should be available in the same aisle as the one above. Unfortunately it is not on the website for me to link for you. This one is the smaller version of the one above, which I also have one of. (You will see it later in this post.) The ones you see above are really similar, only they have deeper compartments. I believe I paid about $8 each for them.
The organizer on the left has bronzers in the back compartment, blushes in the middle and my everyday face products in the front. The organizer on the right has highlighters and shimmer palettes in the back, and a bunch of my favorite eyeshadows in the other two compartments. I kinda keep all of my products I typically use in this drawer, and the other storage units I have hold the products I don't use as often.

Other Storage...
I have this mini 3 drawer stack on top of a shoe organizer shelf next to my nightstand. It is Sterilite and I purchased it at Fred Meyer for about $8. They have really similar ones at Target also, but the ones at Target don't have the little flip top lid like this one has on top. I keep my camera charger in there since I mostly use it to take pictures of makeup lately. The top drawer houses my Wet n Wild trios (the ones that aren't included in my "favorites" in the drawer of my nightstand.) The second drawer holds extra mascaras, eyeliners and eyeshadow pencils I rarely use and the bottom drawer is fake eyelashes and glue. The Kleenex box you see next to it is actually out of Kleenex. I use the empty Kleenex boxes as a little trashcan. It is the perfect size and since it is basically trash itself, I just throw it away when it gets full and use the next empty Kleenex box. The pink accordion organizer on the left has all my receipts from beauty products this year. It was purchased at the Dollar Spot at Target. (Last time I was there they had them on clearance for $0.50 each!) My receipts are all organized by month. At one point I thought maybe I would add them all up at the end of the year and see how much I spent, but I think I am having second thoughts. Talk about scary. At least they are there for now in case I need to return something though.

These two 2 drawer compartments were from Target. Of course they are not on the Target website for me to show you, but I paid $10 each and they are Sterilite brand. You can always use the Where To Buy section on the Sterilite website to find out what stores near you might have them.
These drawers hold mostly eyeshadows and lip products, sorted by brand or type. The top set of drawers (on the left half of the split photo above) has Bare Minerals eyeshadows in the top drawer, ELF eyeshadows in the middle drawer and lipglosses in the bottom drawer. The lower set of drawers (right side in photo) has lipsticks in the top drawer, NYX eyeshadows in the middle drawer and random eyeshadows of many different brands in the bottom. I put these drawer units inside the cubbies of one of these Closetmaid shelfs from Target. (Can you tell I have a love affair with Target?) The shelf was actually purchased to organize clothes in our closet, but as you can see I have taken over most of it. With the drawer units in the cubbies, there was a little space left on the side so I store makeup bags on the top and a couple of ELF palettes and my brush cleaner on the bottom.

Last but not least, the small 3 compartment organizer I mentioned above. Purchased at Target, the price online is $3.49. I keep my little MAC Collection in here. It used to fit in my nightstand drawer until I got the bigger 6 compartment organizer. Now it sits on top of the shelf that holds the two drawer stacks. I am not super into MAC, well... I was for a minute. (Have you ever been to Specktra.net? It will make you want to buy everything MAC.) Luckily, I found out about the Cosmetic Company Outlet and that they sell MAC for about 30% less than retail. Most of these items are from the CCO. There are a couple eyeshadows and lipsticks from the Surf Baby collection this past summer that were purchased at the MAC store at the mall, but I went with my cousin who has a pro card so I was able to get a discount on them. I think I have only paid full price for 3 eyeshadows, one lipglass, one eyeliner pencil and the one and only MAC brush I have. As I said, I'm not super into MAC. If something really unique popped up, I would probably take a look. The Surf Baby collection sucked me in because I loved the theme and packaging. Other than that, no other collection recently has made me feel compelled to go out and purchase a bunch of their products. Now, I love the MAC products I do have and I feel they are good quality. But I also feel like I have some really comparable products from the drugstore that I spent way less money on. Now we are getting into a whole different conversation though, so I'm going to leave it at that for now.

I hope you have been able to get some ideas from this. Target and TJ Maxx/Ross are great places to look for storage and organizers. If you have a Storables nearby, I have heard they have great products as well. (They seem a little on the expensive side to me but I have never visited the store.) The Dollar Tree is worth checking out as well, they had a lot of different types of containers, baskets and organizers last time I was there. Office Depot and Staples are good for pen cups that can be used for brushes. Stores like Pier 1 and Cost Plus World Market could have some good stuff too depending on what you are looking for. Or use and reuse things you already have, like my Kleenex box trashcan and Christmas gift wrap container with the flaps cut off. Think outside the box and you can come up with some great storage solutions.

What are your best tips? Feel free to share!

Sephora Beauty Insiders Point Perks

If you have any points saved up, here is what you might be able to get with them on Sephora.com. I can't say for sure if these are the same as the point perks in store but it is possible. These seem to change all the time, but I took screenshots yesterday (top photo) and today (bottom photo) to show you some of the recent offerings. I don't know if they have so many items available and just randomly show you a few or if what is shown is actually all that is available at that moment.

If you haven't joined Beauty Insiders yet, do it! You earn points for every dollar you spend at Sephora or Sephora.com. Then you can trade those points in for fun deluxe samples! Sign up on Sephora's website.

I personally LOVE Buxom products, so if I had 500 points available right now I would probably get this one. (I can only see this because I add so many things that I wish I could buy to my cart then click checkout to see what they have. I always have a bunch of things in my Sephora.com cart!) The Buxom Lash mascara is definitely my holy grail mascara. Love their glosses too. I have not tried those lip pencils yet but I want to. If you have been saving your points and you love Buxom as much as I do, this might be a good one for you!

Swatched: Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss

I recently got these Revlon ColorBurst Lipglosses at a great price. If you live in Washington and have a Bartell Drugs nearby, there is still time to take advantage of this deal. Revlon (full line) is 40% off at Bartell Drugs through 10/23/11. (Read about more sales here!) The 40% off sale brings the price down from $7.49 each to $4.49 each. Then, if you can find the display with a $2 peel coupon attached to each lipgloss, you get an even better deal. All of mine came from that display, so with the additional $2 off each lipgloss I paid $2.49 each. Great deal, huh?
If you do not have a Bartell Drugs near you, Rite Aid also has Revlon at 40% off this week. I have not seen the display with the $2 peel coupons on the lipglosses at my local Rite Aid but it is worth checking out. If you can't find the display, you could also stack a manufacturers coupon with the sale if you have any. There was one for $1 off any Revlon color cosmetics product in the 10/2 Walmart ad.
Anyway, on to the swatches! (Click images to enlarge.)
These lipglosses come in many different colors. The texture is smooth and creamy with just a slight stickiness to it. I would say these last as long as the average lipgloss. For me it is hard to tell exactly because I seem to always be sipping on a coffee or water bottle, which wears off my gloss. Based on my experience and habits with lipgloss though, I didn't find that I had to apply this one any more than normal. The pigmentation is decent in the swatches above but it does look more sheer on the lips. Take a look below. The brush is kinda unique, it is a longer doe foot applicator that has a rounded tip and has been flattened  a bit. The flattened sides sort of act like a little pocket for the gloss when you pull it out of the tube. If you run out on one side, you can flip it over and use the little pocket of gloss on the other side. I am not sure what other glosses have a similar applicator because this is the first time I have owned one like this. These glosses seem really comparable in texture and pigmentation to the Essence lipglosses I purchased awhile back.
Overall, I think these are a good product for a relatively inexpensive price. (Depending on how many coupons and what type of sale you are able to use.) I am definitely happy with the price I paid for them, especially since I own so much lipgloss I don't know what to do with it. I don't really feel the need to run out and buy more of these, even though they are still on sale. Since they remind me so much of the Essence lipglosses, I would probably purchase one of those first. I'm sure most of these will get thrown into the mix of my favorites though.

Beauty Couponing: How to save the most $$$

I was recently asked where I get my beauty coupons. The answer is many different places. I would like to go over this in detail and explain how to get some great deals on beauty products by combining coupons with sales. While much of this can be applied to couponing in general, but my focus is how to get better deals on beauty products. Think of it as Extreme Beauty Couponing. (lol)

Places I get coupons:

  1. Sunday Paper Inserts: I probably find most of my beauty product coupons in the Sunday papers. Look for the coupon inserts like Red Plum and Proctor & Gamble. Occasionally there are other coupon inserts as well, but those two are the ones most likely to have beauty coupons. Also on occasion you can find manufacturers coupons in a store ad. This happened last week with the Walmart ad, there were about a dozen manufacturers coupons on the back. You can find out what inserts and what coupons will be in the newspaper by going to sites like Sunday Coupon Preview. My advice is to get multiple newspapers so that you can get more than one of the same coupon. I also advise that you check the newspaper before you buy it to make sure the coupon inserts haven't been stolen out of them. This has happened to me a few times. (Lesson learned now, hopefully!) In my area, the Sunday paper is about $2 most places, but if you go to the Dollar Tree you can get it for a $1. If you buy your newspapers there, you are already saving money! (You may as well check out the makeup aisle while you are there, just in case there is anything good!)  :)
  2. Target Website: Target offers online coupons for you to print. There is sort of a catch though, as it can be hard to tell if it is a manufacturers coupon or a Target coupon before you print. Target Savers has a great post about how to tell the difference. It is good to know what you are printing so you don't waste time & expensive printer ink on manufacturers coupons that you may already have. Check your manufacturers coupons first to make sure you already have the ones available, and if not then this is a good resource to print them. You are able to print 2 copies of each coupon, so make sure and do that! Target will let you use a manufacturer and a Target coupon on each item purchased, so by printing their store coupons and stacking them you can save more. The only time this gets even better is if the item happens to be on sale. In that case, you get the sale price and can still use both coupons on each item.
  3. Tear Pads: I frequent my local drugstores just to check out what is new or sometimes because I am looking for a specific new makeup display. These coupons are manufacturers coupons and don't have to be used at the store you find them at. I have been able to get a lot of coupons from the tear pads attached to a display. Most often, the coupons are for $1 off 1 item by that brand. Sometimes they are for specific products or specific types of products, and sometimes it is for any product by that brand. In the last 6 months I have seen tear pads on displays of all the following brands: Almay, Bonne Bell, Maybelline and Rimmel. Maybelline seems to have them the most often, and I have the easiest time finding displays with these tear pads at my Fred Meyers and Rite Aid. When I do see them, I take 2. Don't take more than that though! Be kind to your fellow cosmetic addicts and leave some for them!
  4. In the Mail: I sign up for beauty samples whenever the opportunity comes up. Why? Because I like to try new things. And, because they almost always come with a coupon. I have a lot of coupons for hair products right now because I signed up for several shampoo/conditioner/hair treatment samples recently. Use these coupons during a good sale and you could save a bunch!
  5. Facebook: I "like" the pages of any brand or company I use or am interested in trying. You can often get coupons on their Facebook pages just by liking their page. If they have a coupon available, there is usually a link on the sidebar of their Facebook. Sometimes you can get free samples through Facebook and occasionally even free full size products. Over the summer, Milani did several giveaways. I was able to get a full size baked blush and a full size lipstick for free by signing up for these. Joby Nail Art is another company who has hosted giveaways on Facebook. I got a free sheet of nail decals from them. Sometimes you are not able to directly print a coupon from Facebook, but if you provide an email address they will send it to you. Besides coupons, it is also a good idea to "like" brands on Facebook because you can keep up with the latest information from those brands. theBalm did pre-orders for their Muppet's Cast Your Shadow palette entirely through Facebook. I also "like" stores I shop at, from Bartell Drugs and Walgreens to Sephora and Nordstrom. (You can "like" me on Facebook and see these blog posts there! Cosmetic Addiction on FacebookOften this is the only way or at least the best way to find out first about sales and specials.
  6. Store Savings Booklets/Ads/Websites: I sometimes get store coupons from the weekly ads in the Sunday Paper. Fred Meyer and Bartell Drugs often have them. Walgreens has a new savings booklet each month that you should be able to get in store. In my local Walgreens there is a rack near the front with the latest ads and these coupon books. There are usually beauty coupons in the coupon books. Rite Aid has their Video Values. If you watch a short video about a product you are rewarded with a coupon at the end. You do have to sign up and make sure you log in to get the coupons. There is a tab you can select all your earned coupons and print them from.
  7. Peel Coupons: Sometimes products will have a $$ Off coupon attached to them. In this case, it is a manufacturers coupon that usually only applies to the product it is attached to. I seen peel coupons on Maybelline, Physician's Formula and Revlon products recently. Sometimes the products with these coupons are on their own display and sometimes they are right on the shelf with the others. If you notice a bunch of peel coupons attached to products of a certain brand, it is probably worth taking the time to look through the products in your preferred shade/type to make sure that you get the one with a coupon if you can.
  8. Store Rewards Cards: Make sure you are a member of any savings club offered at your drugstore or grocery store. Sometimes coupons and/or sales will only apply if you are a member. Fred Meyer has their Rewards Card, Rite Aid has their Wellness Card, etc. If it is a store you shop at and they offer a rewards program of some sort, it is worth signing up as long as it doesn't cost you money. (I actually don't know of any that do cost you money, but in those cases it may or may not be worth spending the money to save money. I suppose it would depend on how often you shop at that store, what kind of products you are buying and how much you normally spend.)
  9. Email Newsletter: Most makeup brands and stores allow you to sign up for email updates on their website. You will find out about a lot of sales and deals this way too. I always join these. I basically have a "junk" email that I use for everything that requires an email to sign up. This way I can just go to that inbox when I want and look through it to see if anything is worth noting. More often than not, there is a coupon code in these emails. You can use the coupon code for online orders and sometimes there is a link to print a coupon for use in store. MAC Cosmetics often sends out emails with a coupon code for free shipping.
  10. Bonus tip: If you have an Entertainment Book for the Seattle area, there should be a Bartell Drug page in it. On this page there is a coupon for a free $25 gift card when you transfer any prescription from another pharmacy to Bartell. I transferred my birth control pills to Bartell Drugs, used the coupon and got the free gift card. As far as I'm concerned, that is $25 free to spend on makeup. I was going to pay the same price for the prescription regardless of where I got it from. Bartell Drugs is only located in Washington State, but there may be similar offers available at drugstores near you. It is worth checking out! (PS. There was also a coupon on the same page in the Entertainment Book for $5 off a $25 purchase from Bartell Drugs. This could also be applied to makeup.) There are similar coupons in the 2012 Seattle Entertainment Book as well, but if you have the 2011 copy you still have time to use those. The expire and the new coupons begin on November 1, 2011.

How to use coupons:
You should consult the coupon policy of the store you want to shop at for specific regulations. I base the following on my experience using coupons at the stores in my area. Store coupon policies differ, so it is important to know before you go to shop. I would recommend taking a look at the coupon policies for stores in your area. I will link coupon policies at the end for your reference.

It is important to read the coupon and know exactly what it applies to. Coupons all have different exclusions and details. Make sure you know what size of product you can use the coupon with. If the coupon is for a 15 oz or larger Jergens lotion, then you will not be able to use it on anything smaller than that. If it says on the coupon that it is only good on a specific item, such as Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, then that is all it is going to work on. If the coupon says it is good on any Revlon product... you get the point.
In general, you can usually use one manufacturers coupon and one store coupon on each item. This is called stacking. You can stack those coupons with sales to get even better prices. Often you are able to use coupons on an item that is on clearance. Sometimes coupons will state that they are not applicable on clearance items, so of course in that case you wouldn't be able to. Some stores offer rebates on purchases. You can find sales at Target where you get a $5 Target giftcard if you purchase so many of an item. Another example is Register Rewards at Walgreens, you get a $ Off coupon to use next time when you buy the required item. Or +UP Rewards at Rite Aid. You can see current examples of Rite Aid +UP Rewards on my Weekly Roundup post. With +UP Rewards you get a credit of $$ for spending $$$ on X brand. (Whatever the amounts end up being.)
You have to pay attention to the fine print as well. Some coupons state that only 4 like coupons can be used in the same transaction. This means that if you have more than 4, you will have to do multiple transactions to use them all. Obviously, if a coupon is past it's expiration date you cannot use it.
The absolute best price you can get is FREE. (You might still have to pay tax on free items.) You can get this by combining manufacturers coupons, store coupons and a sale to get a free item. If you have a BOGO Free coupon and there is a BOGO Free sale, use the coupon and get both items free! Many stores will let you use one coupon on each item during a BOGO sale. For example: if you purchase an eyeshadow that is $3 regular price and get one half off during a sale, then use a $2 off one item on each eyeshadow you could get both for $0.50 out of pocket.

Understanding Sales:
Sometimes, a sale may sound like a great bargain. They are not always as good as they seem. Stores use different wording to make sales sound better than they are. For example, Buy One Get One Half Off sounds better than 25% off overall. You are getting half off something right? But they are really the same. Here is a brief list of the sales in order of value and the different wording that can be used. I don't think I have seen a sale on a beauty product for more than 50% off unless it was a coupon for a free item.  50% Off or BOGO Free seems to be as good as it gets on a regular basis, which is good enough for me! I try not to buy products unless they are at least 30% off and I have a coupon.
  • 10% Off
  • 15% Off
  • 20% Off
  • 25% Off = BOGO 1/2 Off
  • 30% Off
  • B2G1 Free = 33.3% Off
  • 40% Off
  • 50% Off = BOGO Free!

Recent Coupon Matchups and Freebies:
Here are some of the recent coupon matchups I have been able to get that are still available. Some of these may require certain coupons from inserts in past Sunday papers, but if possible I will link a comparable coupon. I'm no expert, but I feel like I got pretty good deals on this stuff. :)

Discount Stores: (as far as I know these stores do NOT accept coupons. If I find anymore information about this I will update.)

  • Big Lots:
  • You can often find name brand beauty products at Big Lots. The selection changes all the time, so there is no guarantee that you will be able to find what someone else said they found. It is worth checking out every once in awhile though. I actually stopped by my local Big Lots today. There were some L'Oreal Nail Polishes for $1, some Wet n Wild and Black Radiance giftsets for $4.50, some ELF lipgloss and nailpolish sets for $4.50, Wet n Wild eyeshadow trios for $2.80, LA Colors Metallic 5-shadow palettes for $1.50 and more. There was a somewhat decent selection of products there today, whereas last time I went there was nothing worth noting. If it is convenient for you to stop by and take a look, it could be worth it. FYI, Big Lots does NOT accept manufacturers coupons.
  • Cosmetic Company Outlet:
  • There is only one location in my state, at the Seattle Premium Outlets in Tulalip, WA. This is the best resource I have found for locations of this store: CLICK HERE. There is no official website for these stores. What they are is an Estee Lauder brands outlet store. Estee Lauder owns Clinique, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Origins and tons of fragrances in addition to their own Estee Lauder brand. On average it is supposed to be about 30% less than retail. For the most part, they carry overstock or merchandise from past seasons or collections. Personally, I don't really care that my MAC eyeshadow is a couple months old if I am only paying about $10 for it instead of $15. Everything is brand new and they do have testers so you can try before you buy.

  • Nordstrom Rack:
  • I have found a few great deals on brands like Smashbox, Too Faced and Stila at my local Nordstrom Rack. They always seem to have at least a few items from each of those brands and at deep discounts. I once purchased the Too Faced Leopard Love Palette there, packaged with the Lashlight Mascara for $19.97. Regular price, the mascara alone is $25. They also carry Jane Cosmetics, Ardell Lashes & Accessories and Palladio cosmetics. You can read about some of my Nordstrom Rack Beauty purchases here.
  • Ross:
  • Ross tends to have a lot of drugstore brands such as ELF, Wet n Wild and Black Radiance. They also have a bunch of generic brands I haven't heard of. Occasionally you might get lucky, like the time I was able to purchase a Bare Minerals set there for $5. Read about it here. I keep checking back hoping I will find a deal that good again, but I haven't yet. You never know though.
  • TJ Maxx:
  • Like at Ross, great beauty deals are pretty sparse. Occasionally you do find something good though, which makes it worth checking back just in case. I mentioned the Muppets Palette from theBalm above, but there was another palette that was just the same only in different packaging. It was the Balm & the Beautiful palette and it popped up at TJ Maxx. A palette worth $45 and not yet released on the official theBalm website was available at TJ Maxx for $19.99. It has the exact same colors inside as the Muppets palette. I have seen a bunch of other theBalm products at TJ Maxx as well, including skincare, blush, bronzers, mineral eyeshadows and the Meet Matt(e) palette. You may still be able to find some of these items if you check your local TJ Maxx.

Update: New Wet n Wild at Walgreens

According to the gal at the makeup counter in my local Walgreens, the new limited edition Wet n Wild palettes I mentioned here should be in by the end of the week. She told me today that they will get their a Christmas shipment tomorrow and another one on Friday. I am not sure if this applies to only the Walgreens in the Pacific NW or to a broader area, but definitely keep an eye out toward the end of the week!

There were some Christmas products out but none with a brand I recognized. Except for a display with holiday colors of Sinful Colors nail polish, including a bin of mini bottles! Too cute! I didn't catch the name of this collection, unfortunately, as I was so focused on my hunt for the new Wet n Wild. :)

I originally read about the new palettes on Nouveau Cheap.

New Wet n Wild Products

Wet n Wild has released an all matte 8-pan palette, as well as some limited edition baked eyeshadow palettes. According to G at Nouveau Cheap, they have been sighted at one of her reader's local Walgreens. I will be checking mine today to see if I can find them! I am so excited to find these, the baked palettes look so pretty!

Bare Escentuals Holiday Collection Preview Event

image from email sent out by Bare Escentuals

Today only (October 13th) you can shop the holiday collection from Bare Escentuals on both the website and in boutiques. Unfortunately I won't be purchasing anything today, but I definitely know what is on my Christmas list! I can't wait to try the Strike It Rich Primer Shadow Collection, the Pretty Amazing Lip Collection and the Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 8.0 palette in The Cocktail Party. I love sets with a bunch of mini products so you can try many colors. I have been really wanting to try out both the Pretty Amazing lipcolors and the Primer shadows. Last time I was in Sephora, I played with the testers for the new pressed eyeshadows and I was impressed. These holiday sets will be perfect!

Swatched: L'Oreal Project Runway Colors Take Flight Blush

Sultry Raven's Blush is the last of the items I purchased from the L'Oreal Project Runway collection. Unfortunately, it is also my least favorite. The color looks so pretty in the pan, but it doesn't show up very well on my skin. Perhaps it would work better for someone with very fair skin,  but for me all it does is add the slightest hint of pink shimmer. I did try to build up the color, but it looked powdery on my cheeks. This is the only L'Oreal blush I have ever owned, so I am not sure how it performs in comparison to any others in their line. I probably won't be purchasing any to find out based on my experience with this. I will be returning this blush if I am able to.
