Swatched: Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette

15 brand new eyeshadows from Urban Decay in a pretty keepsake box? Yes please! When I first saw swatches of this on Temptalia, I knew I would end up buying it. I watched it sell out on Urban Decay's website, then on Ulta's... Then I added it to my shopping cart on Sephora's website. Well I am a sucker for instant gratification and decided I didn't want to wait for it to get shipped here. I drove to my local Sephora instead. I had been reading online that most Sephora stores had these in stock, just not on display yet. You had to ask a sales associate about it, and if they had it they would sell it to you. My Sephora got these in stock at 5am on the day I went, and I was the first person to ask about it. I couldn't have picked a better day to go. On a side note, this purchase also pushed me into Beauty Insiders VIB status, so yay for more and better free samples! :)

One of the coolest things about this palette is that the tray containing the eyeshadow lifts out. Underneath is a velvet lined compartment. Once you use up the eyeshadow, you can pop out that tray and keep the box. You couldn't fit much in there with they eyeshadow tray still attached and it still isn't huge once the tray is taken out. It is a nice idea though. The velvet box that the palette comes packaged in (you can see it in the very top photo) is actually really nice looking as well. I think I will either keep the palette in it when I am not using it, or put it on my dresser to put things in. It can definitely be reused as well.

All swatches are swiped onto clean, bare skin with my finger.
No primers or base of any kind are used.
As you can see from the above swatches, all of these eyeshadows are amazingly pigmented. The texture and finish of all of them is great. (I am so in love! haha) I had read online that the one shade people had a hard time with was Tainted. They said it was slightly chalky. I didn't seem to have this problem at all. These shadows are all just as soft and buttery as every other Urban Decay eyeshadow I have used. If I wasn't already in love with Urban Decay before, this definitely did it. They show up just as well on your eyelid too. I wore Tainted, Junkshow and Half Truth yesterday and they lasted all day without creasing. (I did use UDPP with them yesterday, but all of my swatches above are without a base or primer.) Most of these colors are quite unique. I have been playing around with these and some other eyeshadows to see if I have any possible dupes for this palette. So far, I can't seem to find anything too close. If I do find any good dupes, I will post of course! Here are a few more views of the gorgeous packaging and shadows.

Where to buy: Sephora, Ulta (Online or in store) or Urban Decay

  3. @ Biba: You should definitely try Urban Decay! Everything I have from them is great quality!
@ Stephanie: I actually love Tainted! It has such a pretty gold sheen to it in person that didn't show up too well in the photos. My least favorite was Midnight Rodeo because it has glitter in it. That is the only one I think would have a problem with fallout. But once you get it blended it is still pretty! :)
