Urban Decay Deluxe Samples

Free Deluxe Samples from June 2011 promotion on www.urbandecay.com

I finally got around to taking photos and swatching the 3 deluxe samples I got with my Urban Decay order back in June. At the time, they had a promotion going where you would get these 3 deluxe sized sample in addition to the usual lipgloss or lipstick card sample you usually get with your $50 order. You also got free shipping as usual with orders of $50 or more. The 3 items you got were Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Wallflower, Afterglow Cheek Tint in Quickie and Primer Potion in Greed. All of these products are available in full sizes.

Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Wallflower
Of the three products, this is the one I have already tried and own the full size of. I love this lipgloss. If you don't remember, I have already raved about it my June Favorites post. So to recap from that post, the scent and texture of this lipgloss is great. It goes on semi opaque but I like the color that way. It is close to my natural lip color so I love it for a more natural look. This is actually my second mini Wallflower lipgloss and I love the minis because they are perfect to keep in your purse. The full size is $19.

Afterglow Glide On Cheek Tint in Quickie
This is honestly my first experience with any cream blush. I am glad I got a sample size of this to try it out before the cute packaging and fun colors sucked me into buying a full size one. I don't think I am really a fan of cream blushes. I do like the color but I am just not a fan of the texture. I have heard that they work great as a base for powder blushes so I will probably end up trying this out as a base but I likely won't wear it alone. I swiped it fairly heavy in the swatch picture above but you can blend it out as much as you want. Almost until it disappears if you like... and then you just have a kinda shiny spot. Like I said, cream blushes aren't really my thing. The full size is $24.

Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Greed
I love Urban Decay's Primer Potions, they are awesome and your eyeshadow will last all day and night. Greed is the shimmery gold version of Primer Potion. It works just fine to keep your eyeshadow in place. I just didn't feel like the shimmer really added anything when I applied my eyeshadow over it. This one just didn't seem overly special so I think I will stick to Eden Primer Potion. It says on the package that it also works great on its own as a highlighter so I think that is what I will end up using it for the most. The full size is $19.
