Review: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color
Sally Hansen makes great nail polish. I have been a fan for years. This Xtreme Wear line is no exception. The thing I love about these is the shape of the brush. It is flatter and wider to better cover your nail in a few easy strokes. This nail polish seems to dry slightly quicker than average, which is a great thing for me. I used to not be able to finish painting my nails without messing at least one up. Letting them all dry without messing up more of them? That was just a myth, I just couldn't do it. The combination of these nail polished and Seche Vite top coat seems to do the trick for me. I paint 2 coats of color and top it with the Seche Vite clear coat and I'm good to go in about 20 minutes. Many of the colors work great for nail stamping with my Bundle Monster plates as well. As for length of wear, I usually get a good 3 or 4 days without any chips depending on when I work after I paint my nails. I work at a restaurant so I wash my hands often and also use sanitizer rags to wipe off tables, so my hands constantly getting damp seems to quicken the chipping rate of my nail polish. These retail for $2.99 regular price but you can often find sales on Sally Hansen at the drugstore. This week at Walgreens this line of Xtreme Wear is 2 for $4. I recommend checking that out if you have the opportunity and are interested. Overall, I love these nail polishes and will continue to buy them.
Here are swatches of the 12 colors of Xtreme Wear nail polish I have on plain white paper:
I will describe each color as best as I can, this is how they appear to me based on the color of the polish in the bottle, on the paper and my experience with the shades I have already worn. A few I have not worn as all over color but used for stamping nail art.
Ivy League is a shimmery lime green with a slight yellow sheen to it.
The Real Teal is a medium shade of teal.
Blizzard Blue is a sheer icy light blue with a subtle teal sheen.
Virtual Violet is a light blue based purple.
Rockstar Pink is a mix of pink, blue and yellow glitter in a clear base.
Posh Plum is a medium shade of magenta that leans slightly purple.
Pink Boa is a bright hot pink and my new favorite. :)
Twisted Pink is slightly darker than Pink Boa with subtle gold sparkle.
Strobe Light is silver holographic glitter with light pink micro glitter.
Celeb City is a bright shiny silver with a metallic sheen.
White On is a flat white. This is my favorite for stamping.
Black Out is a flat dark black, not at all sheer.
