Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios

L-R: Walking on Eggshells, I'm Getting Sunburned, Spoiled Brat,
I'm Feeling Retro, Silent Treatment and Sweet as Candy
(with flash)

Today I will be posting swatches and reviewing the Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios. I will split the swatches into 2 posts since there will be a lot of pictures. I will add some close ups of the trios to those posts as well. I purchased 6 of these over the past couple of weeks but there are 12 different trios available. I got all of mine for buy one get one half off prices at Fred Meyer. They retail for $2.99 each at regular price.

These are palettes containing 3 eyeshadows: a highlight for the brow bone, a crease shade and an eyelid color. The colors in each palette are all coordinated to create an overall look. Each shadow is labeled with what part of the eyelid to use it on to create the look. The back of the package also has a little diagram with the parts of the eyelid labeled so you know what to put where. Pictured below: the front and back sides of a closed trio.

I purchased the trios in Walking on Eggshells, I'm Getting Sunburned, Spoiled Brat, I'm Feeling Retro, Silent Treatment and Sweet as Candy. I have used 5 of them so far; I have only swatched Walking on Eggshells for photos. I applied the colors the way they are labeled and have liked the results for the most part. Most of the eyeshadows are decent quality, but there are a few shades that lacked a little.

I'm Feeling Retro was probably the most disappointing trio I bought. The crease and eyelid shades are not as pigmented as I had hoped and the brow bone shade is quite chalky. You can make it work, but it will take just a little more effort. In both Walking on Eggshells and Sweet as Candy, I felt that the eyelid color was a little light in pigment. The colors are pretty but you will have to build them up a little. Spoiled Brat really is another one you might have to build the color, especially the black crease shade. It does not go on very dark. The silver brow bone shade is great and the hot pink is okay. I don't think I have much to complain about with the rest of the trios. The colors seemed pigmented enough and the textures were smooth.

Overall, I am happy with the quality I got for the money I spent. The majority of the shadows were great, and I love the color combinations. This is another great beauty bargain, you just cant go wrong for only $2.99 a piece!
